Top 5 Favorite Games of E3 2012

Is it nice to go to E3? I didn’t get to go this year and that was a bummer. On the bright side, I managed to watch the trailers and gameplay, see the press conferences on TV and stream, and still managed to pick what was the best of the show. Here are my top 5 favorite games of E3 2012!

#5: Dead or Alive 5

Number 5 on the list is Dead or Alive 5. This anticipating return of the franchise not only enhances the fighting mechanics, but also manages to include more depth. The arenas are intense, immersive, and more detailed. The gameplay takes what is there in the series and makes it more strategic, chaotic, and fun than the previous installments. Guys don’t worry, the old cast of characters makes their return but there will be other familiar faces. Sarah Bryant and Akira Yuki from the Virtua Fighter series go in with the intent to become champion of this DOA tournament. The latest series veterans that have been confirmed are Kokoro and Tina. When or what can we expect from this game? The game will be on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game’s release date is set for September 25, 2012.

#4: The Last of Us

Take the plate for Number 4 in my list is none other than PlayStation 3 exclusive, The Last of Us. Uncharted fans might want to keep this in knowledge bank. The game is made by Naughty Dog, creators of the series. The game is also going to be grittier than the Uncharted franchise. The game looks great as I anticipated from the reveal trailer. The backgrounds are amazingly detailed. The character modeling is outstanding just like the Uncharted games. The gameplay is solid and fluid. As you fight violent scavengers and mutated people turned monsters, you got the guns and top notch melee techniques to your advantage. You also have the young girl Ellie, who can help you and don’t mess around. This game has been staying on my radar ever since and I have a couple of question to ask. When is this game bound to release? Will we get online co-op or will it be a one-player only title?

#3: Soul Sacrifice

Number 3; say hi to Soul Sacrifice which is exclusively on the PlayStation Vita. This game is made by the creator of Mega Man himself, Keiji Inafune. What anticipates me more is the interesting and brutal gameplay. You are going to have to rely on using magic that will cost you an arm, a leg, your throat, your other body parts, or something other your body parts. You also can join or be joined by a friend thanks to the power of co-op. The design is great for a PlayStation Vita game. The graphics show plenty of polish. The monsters in the game look great and have more depth. The game is slated for release in spring of 2013.

#2: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch for the PlayStation 3 takes its spot for number 2. There is something you should know about this game. This game is and RPG developed by Level 5 along with Studio Ghibli, the studio behind Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro, and Spirited Away. The game will be expected to release next year. The design of the game is amazing. The backgrounds are downright gorgeous and amazing. The animation is smooth and immersive for its art style. You will enjoy the game’s story about a boy who travels into an alternate universe to save a day and bring his mother back from the dead. I anticipate the story to be worth listening to just like that movie I saw, Spirited Away. The voice acting seems to be top notch and great. The music of the game sounds brilliantly composed. Joe Hisaishi is behind the game’s soundtrack. The music just gratefully fit in with the game. I anticipate this game to be in my PS3 library in no time.

#1: Watch Dogs

Number 1, the one that you have been waiting for, the name of the game is Watch Dogs. Let’s get a couple of things out of the way. I have no clue which console it will officially release on. There is no word on a release date also. The game graphics are immersive and gorgeous. I was wowed to see the backgrounds that look amazingly breathtaking. The fire and water effects look downright great and impressive. The concept of the game is great and awesome. You are Aden Pierce, who is a man who can freely hack and exploit everything around him. With his amazing hacking skills, the possibilities of the game are endless. The game’s story seems interesting. It’s something you expect from a good action movie. The voice acting is astounding. This game is an outstandingly anticipating masterpiece that I want to play now.
